![]() Monday, 13th Aug 2001 14:11 With the majority of current Town news stories referring to Town's attempts to bring Mart Poom to Portman Road or blind speculation on who might be a target if subsequent attempts to sign Poom fail, Andy Marshall can't be feeling in top form. However, there is good news for the former Norwich stopper in that he is nearing fitness. Marshall missed the Ireland tour with a back strain, but after making a visit to see a specialist last week he seems on the road to recovery. Marshall said: "I’m looking to start getting in a bit of training now. The back is much, much better. Hopefully I can really get back into the swing of things this week. It was frustrating to miss the trip to Ireland, but that’s how it goes." Marshall even hopes to be available for selection at Sunderland on Saturday. Tommy Miller is due to be amongst a number of Town players invloved in a behid closed doors friendly at Bent Lane this afternoon. The game, against Southend, will feature players on the fringe of the squad.
