Pablo Set to Join Palace Today
Pablo Set to Join Palace Today

Town boss Roy Keane has confirmed that striker Pablo Couñago is expected to join Crystal Palace on a season-long loan today. The 31-year-old won’t be able to play in Saturday’s game between the two sides at Selhurst Park.

Keane said: “They’ve been in talks and I would expect some news on Pablo today. I think he’ll probably sign for them on a season-long loan. Pablo only has a year left on his contract anyway. I’d expect that deal to go through today.”

The Blues boss says there will be no new additions before the weekend and admits that he’s becoming increasingly frustrated: “I’ve been speaking to players for the last couple of months. I spoke to two players over the summer who wanted to come to the club, but the deals weren’t done.

“It’s all very well me speaking to these players, it’s not up to me to get the deals done. It’s up to the chief executive and the owner. We’re doing a lot of talking. There are loads of talks. I’m sick of talking, believe it or not!”

“It’s been frustrating this week. Last week you asked me the question and I was quite relaxed, but this week we’re disappointed, we picked up one or two injuries and we might have won the game last weekend had we had more options and more players available.”

Keane says he is continuing to look for several new signings: “I think we need three or four new players, not just one. We need cover.”

A fee for Wigan striker Jason Scotland was agreed more than a week ago, but that deal is understood to be on hold while the Latics find a replacement.

Keane says midfielder Grant Leadbitter will not be fit enough to face Palace after suffering an ankle problem against Burnley, but that wideman Carlos Edwards could be back from his groin injury.

Im not too worried about players not coming in just yet....as long as we can get a few more decent results. Players will become availble once the prem clubs have sorted their 25 man squads for this season and if we are looking like a top six side them they are more likely to come and play for town. We have the stadium, great fans (mostly) excellent training facilities, a football legend as a manager and a histrory to be proud of...we will haVE A TEAM TO MATCH ALL THAT SOON ENOUGH

Keane on sky sports news; we had a player in his office 10 weeks ago who would've signed that afternoon who's now playing very well for a good team, but the deal wasn't done. So who could that be??!!!??? Does it rhyme with Bopra by any chance?

Keane must be as frustrated as the rest of us. Get your fingers out because with the right additions we could do very well this year.

Mungo , Cardiff are not paying Bellamys wages , that is Man City , so the financial state is not aproblem in that respect ! What is a problem is our boards lack of experience in the football world as shown by the lack of new signings !!! They are well aware of the need for at least one new striker but have so far failed to deliver . It looks as though they are going to hang on to see what is left over after all the sensible clubs have taken the best and left us the pick of the rubbish and panic buying them when we have let better players ( Stead for instance ) go . The idea of clearing out before adequate replacements are in place works in commerce and industry but not in football because the replacements are not always available when required ( in the transfer window ) but in other fields time is not restricted for recruitment ! With this lack of progress I can see future attempts to get season ticket sales back up to where they need to be ( the scum have increased sales while ours have dropped )to keep the club going forward .

meekreech: If you read the reports Cardiff are paying 50% of Bellamey's wages,,, so that's around £45k a week! or about 4 times the amount we are paying Stead and everyone says that is too high for a Championship player...

As far as signings are concerned: Chopra is supposedly on £18k a week and will Cardiff want to pay that for someone on the bench? The issue will be the fee (I believe we offered short of £3m and Cardiff still owe Middlesbrough more than that) and then the wages… I would be very surprised if we ended signing Chopra… The Scotland deal is more likely to happen if Wigan find someone to replace… unless Rogers gets the heave ho after a big loss to Chelsea at the weekend….

The very definition of frustration is available by following this link:

http://www.skysports.com/video/inline/0,26691,12606_6325121,00.html

(Not sure if the link has worked - but watch Keano on skysports news... This is becoming a bloody joke, surely!)

I'm backing Keano and I fear that we will lose him with the useless tw47s who are supposed to get the deals done! Jesus christ we want to be in the premiership playing against the best clubs in the world and we are missing the whole affair! Like it or not we will have to spend big, but surely the returns are big enough to justify the investment?!?!?!

I'm not surprised the owner isn't willing to sPlash the cash on your targets you clown, after the disgrace you were with signings last year! Loaning Pablo is a mistake as well!

Why does no one end up/wanting to play for ITFC anymore ? Hmm anything to do with Keane as manager ??? Why are so many players leaving ?? Hmm anything to do with Keane ? Might be a bit simplistic but you have to wonder !!

Okay, honesty time:

Looking at Keane's performance since he got here, ESPECIALLY in regard to buying and selling - would YOU give him any of YOUR money at the moment?

No, me neither...

Compo and his Boss are fast becoming a laughing stock - they are proving by the day that they are only interested in business - and neither should be anywhere near a football club.
Problem is, more and more clubs are being taken over by these kind of people - their only interest is in their own well being and making money.
Unfortunately whilst there is enough mugs around to keep paying. moaning, and continue to pay and moan - nothing will change.
What's needed is a few thousand mugs to 'stay away' which is the only 'wake up' call that may work with these people.

All we are getting again this season is talk, talk, talk, and even more TALK - and NO ACTION all season long again I guess.

Success is MONEY - not winning things , in their world.
