Reports coming from Italy say that Sampdoria have announced that Matteo Sereni has signed for Town. A fee of £4.5 million is said to have been agreed between the two clubs with personal terms already sorted.

It seems unlikely that the player has actually physically signed as he is not yet in Ipswich and has not yet had a medical. It seems more likely that the clubs have agreed a fee. Either way it looks likely that Matteo Sereni will be Town's new keeper.
