Chimbonda to Talk to QPR Friday, 21st Jan 2011 15:26
Town target Pascal Chimbonda is set for talks with QPR. The 31-year-old, who played for Paul Jewell at Wigan, settled his contract with Blackburn Rovers yesterday.
Chimbonda’s agent Willie McKay said: "Pascal is going down for talks with QPR after cancelling his contract at Blackburn.
"He is keen to get his career back on track after a tough last six months at Blackburn. He feels QPR are an ambitious club that matches his own ambitions and he wants to help them win promotion to the Premier League."
Yesterday, prior to news that the one-time French international had left Ewood Park had broken, Blues boss Paul Jewell confirmed that he had spoken to Rovers manager Steve Kean: “I’ve made lots of phone calls and I’ve spoken to Steve Kean about a couple of things and Pascal’s name did come up in conversation.
“I just asked generally about what would be available. I’ve made lots of phone calls, as I’ve had lots of phone calls.
“I asked him what the situation is and he said he’d think about it. Whether Pascal Chimbonda is part of his plans, I don’t 100% know. I’ll leave that to Steve.”
Meanwhile, Leeds United have also been linked with the right-back.

Qpr official website confirms the signings of Chimbonda for free and Wayne Routledge on loan. Sky Sports aslo confirms that Ishmael Miller the west brom forward has signed for Qpr. Apparently Chimbbonda was scared to come to a club like Ipswich that doesnt invest and isnt serious and possibly might yet get relegated.

we don't want players whose heart is not set on joining us, so not a problem, move on, someone else will appear.

Ipswich24 but too much change in a team will course unrest, particuarly an unpredictable possibly unreliable player like this. Those who have been playing so well and winning games must be miffed that the manager feels the need to bring in a whole load more players.. Also you talk about s** loans we bring him, forgive me if im wrong but hasnt Jewell done exactly the opposite and let the loans go? Townsend was a bloo** good signing, shame Keane sent him back when he did cause i feel sure Jewell would have utilised such a great player, it will come back to bite us i am sure. I just cannot believe the negativity of some people, yes everyone has the right to an oppinion but some moan for the sake of moaning without actually having a contructive view, its people like that who can destroy a club. so come on your real fans, get down their tomorrow and shout for the boys!!!

Chimbonda is the last thing we need, an over the top disillusioned player who probably thinks he is above the Championship, there is a reason he has changed clubs repeatedly.

What is wrong with ITFC and signing players? Do these charades give the fans a liitle bit of hope or do they annoy and frustrate the hell out of them. All we get from the club is we are interested in so and so a player and yet we are never able to do the deal. Shut up, sign the player then hand out a press release. All this nonsense is taking the club nowhere.
