Striker Ronan Murray has joined League Two Torquay United on loan until the end of the season.

Boss Paul Jewell is keen to get Town's young professionals out on loan with keeper Ian McLoughlin having recently joined Stockport on a short-term spell.

The Blues will have a 24-hour recall on the Republic of Ireland U19 international frontman after he has completed his first month at Plainmoor.

Town reserve coach Chris Kiwomya was recently spotted chatting to Torquay boss Paul Buckle at the Gulls' 3-0 victory at Barnet.

Buckle says he's delighted to add the 19-year-old to his squad: "I am thrilled to sign Ronan. A lot of clubs have been chasing the lad and I am sure he will be a great addition.

"[Town chief scout] Steve McCall and Paul Jewell have been great with us and I am very grateful they have allowed Ronan to join our club.

"He will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game with Shrewsbury at Plainmoor."

I think he's ready for the first team now, but having been loaned to Torquay it will only increase his confidence provided they play him every week?
