![]() Saturday, 26th Mar 2011 14:06 Goals from Carel Tiofack (pictured), Callum Bennett and Joe Whight helped Town’s U18s gain a 3-3 draw away against the MK Dons this morning. Republic of Ireland U17 international striker Tiofack opened the scoring in the 19th minute, heading home Caolan Lavery’s knockback from Rory McKeown’s cross. The home side got back on terms on 37 and three minutes later went in front after an error by Jide Maduako. Town equalised in the 71st minute when Callum Bennett rolled the ball home at the far post after the MK Dons keeper and defence had failed to deal with a cross. But parity lasted only seven minutes, the home side restoring their lead with a shot from an acute angle. The scoring was completed in the 87th minute when Jack Marriott robbed a defender before finding Joe Whight, who slipped the ball home. The same player might even have won it before the end, clipping the post from a Bennett cross. With regular keeper Cody Cropper away with the US U20 squad and first-year scholar Conor O'Donnell having picked up a shoulder injury in training, the Blues fielded trialist keeper Jack Boyd in goal. There was similar entertainment in this morning’s other academy game, the U16s losing 4-3 to the same opposition having been 3-1 in front. U18s: Boyd, Bennett, McKeown, Maduako, Meekings, Jones, Burke (Scotcher 57), Whight, Acott, Lavery (Marriott 57), Tiofack. Thanks to Terry Roberts
