Kiwomya and Thadani Join Exodus
Kiwomya and Thadani Join Exodus
Monday, 9th May 2011 15:43

Reserve coach Chris Kiwomya and fitness coach Simon Thadani are set to join goalkeeper-coach James Hollman on their way out of Town over the summer.

Hollman wasn’t with the squad at Leicester on Saturday and is moving on, having joined the club under Jim Magilton’s management in 2008.

Former striker Kiwomya was also brought in by Magilton in 2008, while Thadani has been at Portman Road since George Burley’s time as manager.

Spanish fitness coach Antonio Gomez, the last remaining member of Roy Keane's backroom staff, is understood to be staying at the club.

Manager Paul Jewell hinted last Thursday that there would be major changes to his backroom during the close season: “Like everything else you’re always re-evaluating your staff. When I came in I said I’d have a look at it. Staff, like players, are important and sometimes a manager comes in and changes things, most managers change things.

“Most staff only get jobs because someone else is being moved on. It’s never anything personal. I’m looking at the whole structure of the staff, both senior and junior and trying to improve everything, which is what I want to do. I want to have an input on almost everything that goes on on the football side of it.”

Academy physio Mark Endacott is also understood to be moving on of his own volition.

The reserves won their (admittedly, not very competitive) league and their coach got the sack? Unlucky :(

Don't mind seeing the back of Hollman, but not so sure about these two. Thadani in particular has been here some time and has been publicly praised quite a few times by various players. Still, I trust PJ and it's about time someone who knows their backside from their elbow gave this club a bit of a shake up.

"more jobs for legends would be nice "

I'll get pillared for this, it isnt necessarily directed as CK as he won his league, but no, I cant agree, no more jobs for legends - football is full of jobs for the boys, bring in people who are actually proven to do the job and make players better, not people who were good players 20 years ago. With this logic you end up with Roy Keanes and Bryan Robsons in charge and not Wengers and Mourinho's

All the best to all, esp Kiwomya - a great servant to the club, both on and off the pitch.

Clever management form PJ tho - obv wants to change the club and reform it in his own image, but going about it in the right way - made a few changes immediately, but waited to make many more til summer - not causing to much disruption, allowing the time for things to settle a little... solid management.

i'm looking forward to next season with some interest .to me since pj came its seemed this season was like an extended pre season,he came in with no pressure, basic job was to stay in the division, job done.this has given i believe pj ample time to get what he needs to push us forward in order, and know who he wants around him to achieve this.i dont think an ok season in pj's first full season will sit well with a lot of supporters.i hope its an intresting summer for us

Sad about this for the wrong reasons. My family moved to Ipswich before I was born because my father's cousin lived there and recommended the town. I knew him as uncle Thadani (or uncle Danny) - Simon was his son. Although we lost contact he was a link to the club and if it wasn't for his father I might not have been born in Ipswich and who knows which team I'd be supporting!

Good luck second cousin Simon!

More ME"s money going on new backroom staff to replace them ,unless their out of work then what good are they?Less money for new players Please to see Hallman goingi thick our goalkeepers have gone backwards under him ,that enclued Richard wright when he was here ,Andy Rhodes should never have been sacked, then perhapes we would not be looking for a new 20 goal scorer.Just a thought

It is a rule that new new government is coming with it's staff and I am not surprised here. Only I am very sad about Chris Kiwomya - he was kind of hero of mine when playing for Town and I don't know how good is at this managerial position he had but I just wanted him to stick around more...
Good luck Chris!!! Wherever you go there will be people from Ipswich that will remember you!!!

I don't get this ex player love in, just beacuse he played here does not make him a good coach and as for winning the reserve league, against what exactly, the might of Stevenage, Luton and Oxford reserves, give me a break.

We needed a clear out, long may it continue, as for 'legend, get real.

I do not really care for the legends in jobs thing, but what about the finest ever football chant.

Has it ever been reported if PJ sits in RK old office at the training ground?

Where does PJ spend most of his time?

Has the office been rebuilt again?
