Town, Derby County and Hull City are all reportedly interested in Nottingham Forest striker Nathan Tyson. The 29-year-old is out of contract this summer and has not been offered a new deal at the City Ground.

The Reading-born frontman or left-sided midfielder began his career with his hometown club with whom he made his league debut in 2000. While with the Royals, 6ft-tall Tyson spent time on loan at Maidenhead United, Swansea, Cheltenham and Wycombe Wanderers.

In March 2004 he made his move to Wycombe a permanent one for an initial fee of £140,000. Having scored 44 goals in 83 starts and four sub appearances for the Chairboys, the one-time England U20 cap won a November 2005 move to Forest, initially on loan with £675,000 changing hands to make the switch permanent the following January.

While with the Tricky Trees Tyson has scored 42 goals in 144 full appearances and 69 games from the bench.

Meanwhile, QPR are reported to have made a £2.5 million offer for Watford striker Danny Graham, who is also understood to be a Town target.

Elsewhere, former Blues frontman Nicky Forster has retired from playing at the age of 37 to concentrate on becoming a manager. Forster was with Brentford last season, becoming the Bees' temporary manager towards the end of the season but is not in the running for the job permanently.
