First Signing Imminent?

Town are reportedly close to completing their first signing of the summer. The Blues have been in talks with a number of players since the end of the season but are yet to announce an addition to Paul Jewell’s squad.

If a deal is immediately on the cards as is claimed, there are plenty of candidates. Over the weekend, Town were said to be leading the chase for Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy, who is also understood to have spoken to Reading and Crystal Palace and may have been the player in talks at Portman Road just over a week ago.

Germinal Beerschot midfielder Faris Haroun, Tranmere left-back Aaron Cresswell and Sheffield United striker Ched Evans are just three of many players understood to have been interesting the Blues this summer, while Preston’s Keith Treacy, tipped to be joining the Blues on his return from international duty, is still with the Republic of Ireland ahead of their friendly against Italy on Tuesday.

Chief executive Simon Clegg is currently away representing the club at the Football League AGM in Cyprus.

Don't think it will be released shortly, Maybe by the end of the week but hey, we've waited this long i'm sure we can all wait just a little bit longer.
On the bright side, this time last year we weren't in the postion we are in now as there were no imminent signings and we had the whole summer asking questions so thats a step in the right direction surely.
I think the first signing of the summer is the most important one as it shows other possible targets our intentions. No offence to the Div 2 and 3 players because i know you can get some little jems from them divisions but if a club like us sign the likes of Chopra and co that has surely got to say to other players - Yes Ipswich don't just want to make the numbers up next year and them wanting to be a part of something possibly good in the coming season.
On that opinion I'm happy to sit and wait for the right player to come along, But not to long please.
