Double Deal Delayed Until Tuesday
Double Deal Delayed Until Tuesday
Monday, 25th Jul 2011 21:05

Town are now expected to complete the signings of Arsenal’s Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and Fulham’s David Stockdale on Tuesday. We understand the deal to make striker or midfielder Emmanuel-Thomas a permanent addition is done but that there has been a minor hold-up regarding the paperwork relating to the season-long loan of keeper Stockdale.

Both players were at Portman Road today for talks and for Emmanuel-Thomas to undergo a medical after Town and the Gunners agreed a fee which TWTD now understands to be an initial £1.5 million rising to £2 million with additional clauses.

Terms on Stockdale's loan were agreed with Fulham late last week with the Premier League side insisting on a recall clause in case first choice Mark Schwarzer suffers an injury.

The Blues expect to be able to formally announce the completion of the deals on Tuesday in time for the duo to play in the friendly at Colchester United (KO 7.45pm).

Fans travelling to Colchester without tickets should note they need to buy one at the Ticket Office at the Weston Homes Community Stadium before they can enter via the turnstiles. A Blues following of more than 1,200 is expected to travel to the north Essex club.

Looks good on the Vids, but lets not forget so did Priskin. Still I think this is a really exciting signing. I think JET and LM on the wings will terrify most Championship defences.
Forget the defence just score 8 every game and concede 5, job done.

By Jove SaffronBlue!! That's it. You have the answer. Tell you what. Lets not even bother with a goalie. We can put another striker on instead!!

A few 8-5's and a couple of 12-8's. At least it will be fun to watch !!

Bye the way, I am missing the optimistic contributions from Whoppit. Maybe he's had to stay in for extra medication??

Will be interesting to see where PJ plays him. I think we could do with that sort of power and pace on the wings, and a few Gooners have told me that he has a typical Arsenal first touch. PJ says he still wants another striker so maybe a target man to compliment Chopra, then Ellington and Scotland coming on from the bench if needed. Where is this centre back??? Maybe PJ has a top prospect from one of the top six clubs on loan lined up???

Now just waiting for the right centre back as Ingimarsson looks like he will not manage to complete season injury free, and if ME could raid his piggy bank one more time for a right back;otherwise all these other signings could be wasted if we have a leaky defence, still it will give our new goalie plenty of practice!!!
