Carson in U21 Squad
Carson in U21 Squad
Friday, 5th Aug 2011 16:09

Midfielder Josh Carson has been named in the Northern Ireland squad for their Euro 2013 U21 qualifier against the Faroe Islands next Wednesday at the Oval in Belfast (KO 2pm). The call means the 18-year-old will miss Town’s home Carling Cup tie with Northampton the previous day.

The Blues are also without Damien Delaney and Tamás Priskin for the Cobblers clash as they’ve been called up by to the Republic of Ireland and Hungary full squads.

Carson has previously won three caps at U21 level in addition to his two with the full side. Ex-Town defender Rory McKeown, who is now with Kilmarnock, is also in the squad and if he plays will win his first U21 cap.

@Essex_Tractor I doubt that the Faroese U21s are anywhere near the quality of Northampton.
