Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Kennedy Starts for Blues at Burnley
Tuesday, 29th Nov 2011 19:14

Veteran midfielder Mark Kennedy is a surprise recall to the Blues side for tonight's game at Burnley. The 35-year-old Irishman comes into a much-changed midfield with Jimmy Bullard and Lee Bowyer as expected returning to the XI.

Arran Lee-Barrett makes his first league start of the season in goal, with Richard Wright sidelined by a minor shoulder problem, the same injury which keeps David Stockdale out of the side. US U20 international Cody Cropper, who is yet to make a senior appearance, is on the bench.

Ibrahima Sonko is included amongst the subs after his absence due to a hamstring problem.

Daryl Murphy's inclusion allows manager Paul Jewell to line his side up either in a 4-4-2 formation as against Reading on Saturday or in the 4-5-1 he utilised earlier in the campaign.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Ingimarsson, Collins, Cresswell, Bullard, Andrews, Kennedy, Bowyer, Chopra, Murphy. Subs: Cropper, Sonko, Carson, Emmanuel-Thomas, Scotland.

Burnley: Grant, Trippier, Duff, Edgar, Mee, Bartley, McCann, Treacy, Stanislas, Rodriguez, Vokes. Subs: Stewart, Easton, MacDonald, Hines, Marney.

Hmmmm, not been on here for a while and have not been baying for blood like many, but this is getting silly now.
Concerned about Jewells insistence on old players and not giving youth a chance - despite regularly moaning about a lack of pace. The squad he has is more than enough to compete in this league, if used fully and if played with balance and the right tactics.
Losing my faith.

Went to last 2 away games and felt pretty sorry for myself and all that travelled, feel really bad for all that went tonight, thought Town might have at least pushed the boat out and had a shot on target. Can't understand what the F#@! is going on at PR

ITFC - Hate to burst your bubble but if you have Barnsley on your betting slip....

Plenty of time left for ITFC to concede at least two more goals.

Even under Keane I can't remember things being this bad? Taxi for Jewell and his league of oap journeymen. We were lucky not to lose by 7 tonight and clearly from his tactics PJ is not the man for the job. Please go.

Nothing going forward. A defense that cant defend. I fear the worst.

Still, going down didn't do Norwich any harm.

35+ yrs i've supported this club and this is worse its been since John Duncan's days ..we are a complete shambles , Jewell hasn't changed anything he only wants to play old codgers who are past their best and obviously doesn't listen to this forum ....he must leave now . I think it might be a good thing to get down to League one and start again with a complete young set up and Bullard and sonko as the seniors ...Evans we were thankful for your money but what else have you done ??? bring in a young coach who has links with the club ie Matty Holland or someone similar ....look at Charlton and Chris Powell. We can only hope when league one beckons we do a Norwich or Southampton . I don't expect wins these days only thrashings...how many more times can we as fans be subjected to 3+ goal defeats .....absolutely useless.

Sorry Paul but enough is enough. You have been panic buying crap like a tart an an Ann Summers closing down sale and this club deserves far better!

Its time to say goodbye and agree with previous comments about someone young with pasion for ITFC like Holland.

It couldn't get any worse!!!!

no pride, no passion, gutless, no words can discribe this team. I would suspend there pay. Would play Bluey the mascot on saturday he would do no worse.

Garv - even you as the most optimistic must believe we are at the point of no return?

The decision making on team selection has, in my opinion, lost the dressing room. Be amazed if PJ is still in Town this time next week.

No comment, can't think of anything to say except ALB made number of saves to keep the score down. What the hell is going on?
