Huddersfield Set to Sign Second Falkirk Player
Huddersfield Set to Sign Second Falkirk Player
Tuesday, 31st Jan 2012 15:25

TWTD understands that Falkirk winger Kallum Higginbotham will join his Bairns team-mate Murray Wallace at Huddersfield Town. Earlier this afternoon, the Blues and the Terriers were amongst a number of clubs reported to have agreed a fee for the 22-year-old with the Scottish League Division One club.

Huddersfield beat Town and Brighton to 19-year-old defender Wallace’s signature, offering both the player and the selling club a better financial package.

Meanwhile, Crawley Town have rebuffed an offer of £1.9 million from Peterborough United for Town target Tyrone Barnett and defender Kyle McFadzean.

Crawley have signed former Blue Billy Clarke from Blackpool for an undisclosed fee.

Lets lighten up a bit here chaps. Which ITFC supporters had even heard of Kallum Higginbotham this morning? Murray Wallace is returning to Falkirk so he wouldn't play a part in the rest of this season even if he had joined. The talks continue with Portsmouth so lets reserve judgement until later this evening.

If we dont offer the money we wont get anything , always trying to do things on the cheap which is why we are where we are ,we cannot compete with other clubs in this league or half of Div 1 financially

What a bunch of moaning little girls we have for so called fans. Forget not knowing any facts like Wallace refused us and Brighton to joined Huddersfield a Northern club not to far from his native Scotland. Not everything is about money. As for the other player we weren't even after him so why bemoan we didn't get him? Man up for FFS the club are trying to sign players and lets face it we aren't the Ipswich of the 70's and 80's. Nor will we be again, as no club our size will ever be able to achieve that again thanks to the Premier League.

Hi Guys, Huddersfield fan here, followed then for nigh on fifty years now, like some of you, no doubt, through thick and thin, but to be fair, our thin is a lot thinner than yours!

Just a couple of points though!

Our money has nothing to do with any deal for Rhodes, (thanks for him by the way!), our Chairman recently sold his business for a reputed 9 figure sum, so he's not short of a bob or two, and he's also a lifelong fan, as a kid he used to stand in the ‘Cow Shed', our home ‘end', so he's prepared to spend some of it.
I never expected Rhodes to leave in the window, at the end of this season he'll still have three years on his contract, that will take him to 24, so if we go up this season I think he'll stay for another one, unless one of the real big clubs come in for him.

As for the other points raised, I doubt if any Town fans held Marcus Stewart coming to Ipswich against you, all our hostility at that time was aimed at our Board, Manager and Chairman then, Bruce is still very unpopular up here, as is Barry Rubbery!.

WickedBlue has a good point, we being farther North probably helped wit Wallace, (and Rhodes playing for Scotland wouldn't hurt!) And you weren't interested in Higginbotham anyway, so no harm done!

Sorry you've got Jewel, he's ex Bradford, so not popular with us either, but to be fair, (as much as that hurts me), he did a decent job at both Bradford and Wigan.

Well, enough rambling from me, Good Luck for the rest of the season.

Goodnight all.

Oh, nice result tonight by the way!
