Young Town striker Guillermo Graaven has been told that police will not be charging him with rape. Graaven and another man were arrested in August after an incident involving a 17-year-old girl in Myrtle Road in town. Graaven was quick to catagorically deny any wrong-doing.

Today he was said to be happy at the news, although bitter over the incident. The Dutchman said: "I thought I'd lost my whole career because of this girl. I've done nothing. It's a very big slur on my career. Look, I'm not here for girls, I'm here to play football. There's been no progress since this happened. I need to start playing and start working to get into the team."

Last season Graaven's career at Town got off to a poor start when he was badly injured in his first reserve game against Leicester City. He got back in action by the end of the season. This season has seen the rape allegation hanging over him.
