Magilton Linked With Return to Management
Wednesday, 12th Sep 2012 08:52

Former Blues boss and skipper Jim Magilton could be set for a return to management with Shamrock Rovers after Stephen Kenny was sacked by the Dublin side last night. Magilton, who has been out of work since leaving Australian club Melbourne Victory in April, is amongst the favourites to take over at the Airtricity Premier League side.

The 43-year-old previously worked at Shamrock Rovers, who ex-Blue Shane O’Connor joined in the summer, as assistant to his close friend Michael O’Neill, who is now in charge of Northern Ireland.

During that spell Rovers became the first Irish side to reach the group stages of the Europa League.

Champions again last year, they currently sit in fourth, 13 points off the top with the Irish season running through the summer.

Meanwhile, Blues midfielder Josh Carson was an unused sub last night as O’Neill’s Northern Irishmen drew 1-1 at home to Luxembourg in a World Cup qualifier.

...... all gone extremely quiet on the western front - I think most people have, at last, given up with this lot.

Good on yer Jim if you get back into the game - fact is we would have been better placed if you'd still been Manager - that's a pretty safe bet.

Can't believe the general malaise that emits from this Club right now - even the media seem to have given up on it.

.... never before have so many been stuffed by so few !!! ....

Jim was a great player for this club, but unfortunately I dont think he has the temperament to make a manager what with all the stories that came out about him falling out with local press etc.

However I hope he proves me wrong as theres nothing wrong with passion for what you beleive in.

What is really worrying though is how dead the news is. just looked on the star and they havn't updated their ite for about 3 days!!

Its not encouraging fans that things arent happening.

Would rather have David Wright back, but notice he went to Gillingham. How does that work?

He's looking older now, anybody would have thought he was still managing here (wish he was compared to what we have experienced lately).
