Villa Tickets Sell Out
Tuesday, 18th Dec 2012 10:55

Town have now sold their entire allocation of 2,900 tickets for the FA Cup third round tie at Aston Villa on Saturday 5th January.

The final few seats went on sale by phone this morning, the majority having gone to Gold and Silver Card members and season ticket holders via the usual priority system.

With only the 2,900 tickets available to the club on a sale or return basis, Town say no further seats will go on sale.

itfcjon - please see MathieandMarshall and TJS 's comments - agreed the ticket allocation has been been poorly dealt with BY VILLA - not by Town and certainly not by what you call the "part-time supporters"

I can no longer attend any matches so don't really have any right to a say in this controversy. However, I used to be an S/T holder at home and a regular at away games. In those days if any big matches came up then we had to show ticket stubs for earlier away games to get limited tickets and that was fair. IMO the regular away fans have been very badly treated in this instance and should have had priority on the away tickets, subject to them producing stubs from earlier away matches, S/T are for home games only and should not prioritise away games, that is strictly unfair. How many times have I read about the ardent away support that the Town have, and how lucky they are to have it. Surely the Manager and the players would agree with this sentiment and it is about time the Town hierarchy pulled its finger out and started supporting all Town supporters, not just the S/T holders. Rant over. COYB

All this talk of part time supporters taking tickets. Does this mean the hardcore away suppoters would rather sit with the other 649 than the 2,900 town fans actually going?

Week in week out, or occasional supporter we're all behind the same team.

Good point billblue. I remember having to produce stubs from away matches to purchase tickets for big games. I'd think it fair if the ticket allocation was more along the lines of 1) Away passport 2) ST holders with X amount of away stubs 3) fans with X amount of stubs/ ST holders without stubs 4) general sale. Or something like that maybe??

Bring back the good old days when you could turn up on the day and pay your cash at the turnstile regardless of who you were or whether you had been to a game before... it worked for years and years .... how many of our games are sold out these days ??? ....and the crowd arrives earlier to get the best view and the atmosphere starts earlier , not five minutes before kick-off like now... and everyone benefits !!!
