Murray Joins Plymouth as Carson and Scotland Also Set for Moves
Thursday, 10th Jan 2013 15:01

Manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that striker Ronan Murray is joining League Two Plymouth Argyle on loan until the end of the season, while midfielder Josh Carson is also set to move out for a temporary spell.

McCarthy said: “They’ll both be going out on loan, Ronan’s going out on loan, he’s on his way down to Plymouth at the moment.

“With Josh, there are a couple of clubs who would like to take him, we’ll wait and see what happens.”

Irish U21 international Murray is out of contract at the end of the season, while Northern Ireland full international Carson is contracted until 2014 with the option of a further year.

Meanwhile, McCarthy confirmed that striker Jason Scotland will be allowed to move during the transfer window: “Jason is likely to be going somewhere. He’s been fabulous, Jason, he’s such a lovely character and a nice man, he’s been great around the place.

“But we’re going younger and hungrier, I guess, and unfortunately Jason’s missing out. But he understands and he’d like to go and play football somewhere in the twilight of his career.”

Wolves, Brighton and Preston are all understood to be interested in the 33-year-old former Trinidad and Tobago international but McCarthy says no deal is yet in place with any party.

Watched the game v f/stowe also, Murray needs the right service which he did not get on Tuesday. I`ve watched Josh numerous times since his academy days, a loan spell will be just what he needs. He has stalled a bit he, but i think he is a good player.
Mings looked comfortable on the ball when he had time, but no so when under pressure, let his man run across him for the first goal.

Correct me if Im wrong but i dont think theres a player at this club that has scored more goals for us than Jason Scotland. However, it is time he moved on, sadly. All the best Jason, cheers for your hard work/commitment

Sure Jason Scotland will thoroughly deserve the good reception he'll get on his next return to Portman Road. A true pro.

A lot of the same people who are whinging about loan players were raving about DJ Campbell. You can't have it both ways. Just let the manager get on with it. He's not doing too bad so far

We're not going up or down so why not let Jason go out and get in some for the future. He could do well at any club at the top of this division as an impact player. Good luck to him. A real gent.

Agree about carson. Seems to have an ego. Hopefully a spell away gets him back on track. I like Ronan but I suspect he is another bowditch. League one and maybe flirtation with championship in the future.
