Camp Joins Canaries
Wednesday, 23rd Jan 2013 18:51

Norwich City have confirmed the signing of Nottingham Forest keeper Lee Camp until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Northern Ireland international, who was made available on a free transfer by Forest after he was unable to agree new terms with his contract set to end in the summer, held talks with the Blues about moving to Portman Road early last week.

Town boss Mick McCarthy is keen to add another keeper to his squad during the transfer window, West Ham loanee Stephen Henderson having returned to Upton Park recently, with Blackpool's Matt Gilks and Sunderland's Keiren Westwood also having been linked.

Make sure he remembers to take the drinks bottles out with him for the dugout.

Enjoy the bench, in my opinion it was a lucky escape as he was horrific down here for Forest.

Don't blame him. Reports are we only offered him terms to the end of the season too. And if I were a 'neutral', I'd go for the chance to play in the Premiership over Championship. Especially as he's not guaranteed to play every week at either club (He's competing with Bunn up there, but equally he'd be competing with Loachy here). We move on.

Surely the idea of a Camp Canary is not a new one?

Ruddy, Rudd, Bunn and now Camp...how many keepers do they want? All are good, Ruddy the best?

Short-term deals seem to be more common these days. He left Forest as his contract was up in the summer, and joins Norwich just until the summer, so he'll be unemployed in a few months anyway. He's burned his bridges with Ipswich now and he won't get in the Norwich team when Ruddy returns, so he'll have to find yet another a new club soon I suspect.

...... just hope we don't go back in for him when Norwich offer him nothing at the end of the season - we need another keeper for sure, but as we have seen recently there are very decent keepers, and outfield players, at lower league clubs - Where are the Scouts ??

Bradford could be worth a look for a start !!!!

Camp Canary - I like that.

Scott Loach is a Blue and good for him, but he's not very good at sorting corners is he (last Sat for eg). Or free kicks....

won't get a look in once ruddy is back, who i think United should have gone for before they signed de gea. Quality keeper although difficult to support as he's at the scum, I went to school with him though!

If that means that Loach gets a decent run in the team to show us all (most importantly Mr McCarthy) what he can do then this is a good news story.

If Forest didn't want him then he can't be much cop.

Hilarious once again. If we had been beaten to a signing in October when poor old PJ was in charge you'd be going mad! Blaming him and clegg saying "the offer can't have been good enough" and my personal favourite "why are we being so tight, where's all the Connor Wickham money gone". Now because its MM you don't care and he's useless anyway. Lol. Brillant. You are a funny lot.
