Hull Could Recall Mclean
Sunday, 27th Jan 2013 01:59

Hull City boss Steve Bruce says he could recall striker Aaron Mclean from his loan spell with Town. The 29-year-old joined the Blues on loan earlier in the month and has made two starts and two sub appearances without scoring.

Bruce also has former Blues loanee striker DJ Campbell - who played for QPR in their 4-2 FA Cup defeat to the MK Dons on Saturday - in his sights but says he may look to bring Mclean back to the KC Stadium.

“It might be that we recall Aaron Mclean, we’ve got to look at that one,” he told the BBC. “We’ve put him out there to get games but today, for example, I’m looking to make a change and we’re a little bit short.”

Mclean was due to stay with the Blues until the end of the season but, depending on the agreement made between the clubs, the Tigers could recall him after 28 days.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has confirmed that he is looking to add his former Town team-mate Kieron Dyer to his squad: "I've had some conversations with Kieron.

"If Kieron was fit and playing for us then he would be a huge asset for our club. I've watched some footage of him playing against Gareth Bale for QPR and he did well.

"He's scored in the FA Cup against West Brom and he's been available, fit and playing.

"I'll have to see if something can be done and we might be close to that. If Kieron plays football for us and helps win football matches then I think he would be an asset."

According to reports Dyer, who has trained with Town since his release by QPR earlier in January, would be on a £10,000-a-game pay-as-you-play deal. Crystal Palace and Fulham are also understood to have shown interest. Middlesbrough are at Portman Road on Saturday.

Elsewhere, we understand that Jason Scotland, whose Blues contract was settled last weekend, is set to sign for Notts County in the next few days, having trained with the League One club this week.

There really are some ridiculous posts on here. MM is only going to want to sign players for the long term and is not going to be held to ransom by throwing inflated money at the sort of players that are likely to be sold in this transfer window. That is why he will try and improve the squad by getting in the right sort of loan players. People moan about the quality of the players we have had on loan- yeh, like DJ, Wellens, Orr. Ok Reo-Coker didn't work but he wasn't a loan and it was a gamble worth taking.
Why on earth would Brentford want to sell Forester to us - they have a very good chance of getting promotion and it won't be improved by selling one of their best players. That was a mistake they made before when they let DJ go.
Yes I don't particularly like the loan system but its here and I would rather get a couple of good experienced pros for the rest of the season to help us stay up and then let MM rebuild his squad in the summer when players he wants to buy are more likely to be available.

We basically need somebody upfront who is a right greedy b@stard in front of goal...a no nonsense out and out goal getter...Chopra used to be like that..shame his head is all over the place because I still think he could do a decent job in this division.

What's the situation with Billy Sharp?..is he on loan at Forest?..if not he'd fit the bill.

IMO surplus to requirements so let him go back.We have enough strikers and MM needs to start backing Chops who is still the most likley to score. We NEED midfielders who can pass the ball forward to one of his team mates and who knows where the goal is.!!
Our current midfield are about as creative as a Louis Walsh boy band.
Please sort it big Mick.
