New Boy Anderson Delighted
Monday, 8th Jul 2013 15:40

New signing Paul Anderson says he’s delighted to be a Town player having completed his swap move to the Blues earlier today. The 24-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Jay Emmanuel-Thomas moving to Bristol City.

Anderson, who played alongside David McGoldrick and Luke Chambers at Nottingham Forest and Cole Skuse at Bristol City, told the club site: “There has been talk about the move for a couple of weeks now and obviously I’m delighted that it’s gone through.

“Chambo rang me a while back and said he’d heard whispers that I might be coming here. He told me the gaffer was keen but it was only this morning that I actually sat down and spoke with the manager.

“My agent has been in contact with the club and the manager. I’ve left him to do that but as soon as I heard Ipswich were interested in me, I was hoping it would happen.

“It’s a massive club with a great history and has a manager that is a big name in the game. The gaffer really turned Ipswich’s fortunes around last season and the form they showed after his arrival would have had the team right up there challenging at the top of the table.

“You can tell there is real buzz about the place, just from meeting the people behind the scenes and I can’t wait to get going here.

“This is the first time I have seen the stadium in the daylight as well. Every time I have played here, it’s been on a wet Tuesday night.”

Anderson looks set to make his first appearance in a Blues shirt when Town travel to Crawley on Wednesday evening (KO 7.45pm).

I wonder how Paul Jewell or Roy Keane would have got on this season without the money to spend on new players ? Just a thought.

Welcome aboard Paul.

Welcome to Portman Road Mr Anderson. If you shoot like your namesake can bowl then we could be looking as some much needed goals from Midfield. Best of luck for next season.

Its been a long , long time since we've had a manager capable of wheeling and dealing . I dt give a stuff that we are picking up players on freebies or from lower leagues because we have been down the route of buying so called big names, on mega bucks and frankly they have all flattered to deceive or just been plain pants.

We will have a side to be proud of and that will not take any prisoners this season. Top 6? You'd better believe it !

COY bloody Blues!

Excellent signing.

Now we need to get rid of that 'rotten apple in the barrel' who has disgraced this club and has the nerve not to leave, yet accept a huge wage without even playing.

I wonder how much Chambers had on his decision to come? Thanks anyway this was good business.

I wish J E-T all the best. Working with a manager who has worked with him before may get the best out of him, it simply wasn't going to work at Portman Road. I hate to see a career just peter out. Are you reading this Chopra?

don't know if anyone agrees but it always seemed with the previous two managers that any half decent player who became available was snapped up, regardless of their position or if they fitted into the system we operated. (which is why we ended up with a load of CM and no wingers and people like JET/Martin who are CAM shoehorned into a 442) - Now with MM things make sense at last! - he has chosen his formation and has now gone out to sign players to fit in that system (while shipping out those that don't) Big fan of the summer business so far.

welcome paul
we all need to get behind him now-he is not going to skin the full back every time but even if he skins him 2 out of six times and creates 2 chances from which we get 1 goal he will have done his job

jet has loads of ability but i dont think he will ever do that well playing a 442 formation.
he needs to play in a 4231 system really so maybe that is what o driscall has in mind
