Marshall Quit Threat
Marshall Quit Threat

Forgotten Town keeper Andy Marshall says he may have to leave Town unless he gets a first team chance soon. Marshall was picked up from Norwich on a Bosman in the summer, but has so far failed to even make it to the first team bench.

Shortly after his purchase he picked up a mystery back problem and George Burley was forced into purchasing Matteo Sereni, widely regarded as Town's player of the season so far. Marshall said: "I am willing to fight for my place but I have to be shown that I will be given a chance. If I am not going to get that chance there is no point fighting a losing battle."

Town supporters weren't universally pleased when George Burley brought Marshall to Portman Road as the replacement for Richard Wright, but Marshall thinks they will sympathise with his current plight: "Ipswich fans will understand how I feel. They will appreciate the position I was in last season and the position I am in now. I want to play first team football and after five seasons in the Norwich team, being out of the side has been hard."

Marshall added that if he does leave Portman Road he hopes to go to another Premiership club and not have to drop down a division.
