Adekunle Signs One-Year Deal
Tuesday, 20th Aug 2013 12:48

Trialist Jordan Adekunle has joined the Blues on a one-year contract. The 18-year-old, who first impressed manager Mick McCarthy while facing Town for Crawley in pre-season, scored in last week’s U21 friendly against an Irish development side and also played in last night’s U21 game against Cardiff City.

Left winger Adekunle was with Charlton as a schoolboy and has played for the England Colleges U19 side.

He was subsequently with Ryman League Division One South club Bognor Regis Town before moving on to Crawley’s youth set-up.

Adekunle told the club site: "I'm delighted to sign for Ipswich. It's a great club and I can see the rich history of the place just by walking through the corridors here.

"The manager has given me a chance here, so I want to do well for the club and I'm just buzzing for the new season here really."
