Last Day of Window Passes Quietly
Monday, 2nd Sep 2013 21:35

The final day of the transfer window has passed quietly at Portman Road with Josh Carson’s exit by mutual consent the only move in or out.

Despite a report this evening linking the Blues with Barnet striker Keanu Marsh-Brown, Town spokesman Steve Pearce told TWTD that no moves are set to take place before the 11pm deadline: “There’s nothing happening.”

When the loan window open I have been told a top striker from Iceland is joining Town
And Micks scouts are also watching two lads from Asda and one from Tesco

I'd like to see Taylor given the next run of games after the break - give him a chance behind McGoldrick, that's our best hope of goals imo

At least we managed to sign Manilow. Just can't see him scoring many goals that's all.

We really need to sign up a couple of forwards on loan. Just can't see where the goals are coming from otherwise. Alan Lee is probably our best striker, but we can't expect him to get 25 goals when he's 35 years old.

We need to be better than 3 other teams in this division- that's what I keep telling myself. Having examined all the squads in detail- I would say there are 4 worse squads than ours at the mo (unless they get reinforced). Barnsley, Sheff Wed, Yeovil and Millwall have all got worse teams than us. Games against these teams could prove critical at the end of the season. Ipswich vrs Yeovil really is going to be massive for us- especially so early in the season. It is a must win game.

... and with it any chance of a decent season. This strike force is not good enough and arguably weaker than last season - where we also had Chopra and JET as options. Okay, neither excelled, but our options are limited.

Totally agree with JAs0999 the squad is weaker in quality than last year ,Chopra and JET are better options than what we have now even Martins busyness and pace is missed .We are crying out for width and pace and a player like Michael Kightly goes on loan to Burnley ?
Better have some good loan deals lined up MM or the season will be looking down rather than up for results coming in .
Sharp and Wickham would please the faithful

Have we improved on last year players ????? Well missing from the line up are Henderson, Stearman, N,daw, Martin, and not to mention Jet , Chopra.
By the way Southampton wants Sharps wages paid in full if he goes on loan ??

According to The Times today (03/09/2013 p.59) Aston Villa were quoted £10 million for Aaron Cresswell.

Phil, do you know if there's any truth in this?
