 Friday, 4th Jan 2002 10:31 Town are planning to offer veteran central defender Mark Venus a new contract in the near future. Venus has had another good season and despite his age appears very much part of George Burley's plans. The Town boss said: "He is 34 but a very fit lad. He has not lost his speed and stamina but has gained in experience. The matter of a new contract for Mark is somethig that we will be looking at. He has shown he is still a top class defender, and hopefully will be with us for many more seasons."
