Manilow at Portman Road Friday, 16th May 2014 10:21
Portman Road is hosting veteran American singer-songwriter Barry Manilow this evening. Tickets have sold slowly and are currently being offered at half price.
Regardless of ticket sales, Town have a guaranteed income from the concert with a third party promoting the concert and hiring the stadium from the club. Doors open at 5pm with the support act on stage at 7.30pm.
Meanwhile, Town’s U16s drew 3-3 in a friendly against Spurs at White Hart Lane yesterday with Isaac Maynard, Nick Ingram and Ross Meldrum on the scoresheet. Earlier, the Blues’ U14s had lost 2-1 to the same opposition.
Keane, who is understood to be in the process of looking for a house close to his home town of Cork in addition to his base at Alderley Edge in Cheshire, lived in Woodbridge for much of his time as manager of the Blues before moving out in the summer of 2011.
The house has been rented out since then having failed to sell when initially put on the market.

Plastic nose? plastic face, going by what was seen on Graham Norton show last Friday, anybody note on that show how Norton said 'Ipswich Town football ground, wouldn't have connected that with you'! - perhaps you wanna get up off your ass Norton and come here and see what a good stadium we have, oh I've forgotten you like watching gender benders singing badly.
Anyone who would think that a football stadium is a good arena for a concert is a subject for social services help. The visual/audio dynamics for a good musical experience are simply too unpredictable to gamble on given the price of the tickets. Then there is the weather! Attendees at Glastonbury et al might be happy to endure the rain etc. The Barry Mannilow fans obviously weren't prepared to take the risk. However given reduced priced tickets and a decent weather forecast maybe this may not be the disaster it is looking to be.
What a ridiculous decision to allow Manilow to perform here! I was under the impression when this concert was announced the club we're looking into other acts to perform, whilst the stage was set up, so what happened??
kiwiblue - I could of been paid to be there and I'm not even going! Didn't want to spoil my weekend! Got paint that I need to watch dry and then I'm poking my eyes out with pins. Possibly the most awful act they could of chosen, a complete has-been!
Sounds like ITFC have got the business side right for a change but the selection of performer has been wrong for a while Quo,Tina Turner,Rodney, and Elton John great and filled the stadium, recently the choices have been poor and sounds like a bit of a disaster with Manilow.
Someone should have a word in their ear, I was at Port Vale when 40000 saw Motorhead. Black Sabbath who are currently doing yet another reunion tour, Iron maiden, ACDC these type of proper rock bands fill stadiums to this day
Like the football last season - boring. I agree recent choices have been very poor. I have been to 2 concerts and enjoyed them both, Elton John and Pink. Nobody wants to go to a football stadium to be bored, ITFC take note for 2014/15 season.
Oh my word Cloddy, "Like the football last season - boring. I agree recent choices have been very poor. I have been to 2 concerts and enjoyed them both, Elton John and Pink."
Our best finish in years with the possibility of the play offs right up to the second last game and you call that "boring" and in the same breath you say you enjoyed old Reggie Dwight and er, Pink. I would absolutely HATE to watch the football equivalent of those two TBH. No accounting for taste eh?
Looks like we have the same people organising the concerts as we do the season ticket renewals with the £120 added on for the Academy without telling anyone!
Need to get a grip of the off field side Mr Evans!
bohslegend. You must admit - I do have one hell of a sense of humor! It's developed over the years watching ITFC. ;) We were in with a shout of play offs up until the last 2 games as you say, best finish for years and worst football spectacle apart from when we decided to attack teams and not stop them scoring. £50 to watch Manilow - WOW.
