Tabb Victorious at Celebrity Pro-Am
Wednesday, 21st May 2014 21:19

Town midfielder Jay Tabb was in the winning four-ball in the morning session at the BMW PGA Celebrity Pro-Am at Wentworth earlier today.

Tabb was playing alongside European Tour pro Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Olympic snowboarder Ben Kilner and Tomasz Boniek.

The afternoon session at the annual star-studded pre-cursor to the BMW PGA Championship proper, which starts on Thursday, was won by Francesco Molinari and his team of Gianfranco Zola, Daniele Massaro and Andriy Shevchenko.

It’s the third time Tabb has taken part in the tournament, having played alongside pros Ben Curtis and Paul McGinley in 2012 and 2013.

his fringe is bigger than him....

is he out of contract? he was great whilst on loan, but never really made a slot in the XI or on the bench (paul green preferred to come on to sure things up, big frank or taylor to chase the game). Hope he's not on too much money

Give the guy a break! He's a good lad and does his best - a very useful squad member at the very least. He may well do better on the pitch next season and we, as supporters, need to support him.

Sibelius8. For me he looked as if he sold the club short last season, much more effort before he signed his contract. I seem to remember that Mick had a go at him once!!

Totally agree was great while on loan but once he got a deal he hibernated,he had planty of time to practise his golf last season while we paid for it,I wonder if Mick Mc will be tempted by the Celtic job??????

We seem to hear more about 'Tabby' on the golf course the last few months rather than what he has done on the pitch which says it all! - I think he plays ofF about 11 or 14, something like that so he won't be becoming a pro any day soon.

Wickets: Agreed. He's been rather ineffective on the pitch after a, let's remember, a brillant start vs Reading,: however, it always takes time for players to improve.

The mantra of "He'll get better" (with good coaching) applies to all players, irresespective of age. Murphy has been a shining example of what good coaching can do this past season. With Jay Tabb I'm sure that next season he will be a fine cog in that wheel of Championship fortune -also, he's a good lad and will not disrupt the dressing room as some imports have done over the years........
