Trio Win Irish U18 Caps Friday, 5th Jun 2015 09:19 Shane McLoughlin started and Cemal Ramadan and Adam McDonnell came on as subs as the Republic of Ireland U18s drew 0-0 in Luxembourg in the second of two friendlies last night. Striker or midfielder McLoughlin (above) played the first 60 minutes before fellow frontman Ramadan took over, while midfielder McDonnell was introduced as a half-time sub. All three started the first game, a 1-0 win, on Tuesday.
McLoughlin and Ramadan both recently completed their two-year academy scholarships but have been offered the opportunity to stay with Town.
McDonnell joined the Blues from Shelbourne on the final day of last summer's transfer window, signing a two-year deal, but was unable to play competitive football due to red tape relating to his education. Having turned 18 last month this is no longer an issue. Republic of Ireland U18s: Colin McCabe, Jack Tuite, Daniel Casey, Ryan Sweeney (Danny Kane 40), Graham Kelly, Thomas Holland, Macaulay Keating, Nathan Corkery, Shane McLoughlin (Cemal Ramadan 60), Conor Ellis (Jessie Devers 75), Alex Mulroney-Skinner (Anthony Breslin 70). McDonnell came on as a half-time sub but was omitted from the FAI's teamsheet.
