Town Not Selling Brown

George Burley says he is not selling Wayne Brown, at least not during the remainder of this season. Brown is enjoying a successful spell on loan at Watford with speculation in Hertfordshire that the clubs have agreed a fee and a permanent move is a formality.

Burley said: "Wayne is not being sold anywhere. There are ten games to go this season and we may want him here. He is a member of our squad and we know he can do well for us if we need him.

"I have a 24 hour recall clause in the deal with Watford and if necessary will get him back."

That will come as good news to supporters, many of whom feel that Brown has never got his chancesince Town were promoted to the Premiership. A TWTD Town Topic (http://www.twtd.co.uk/towntopics) this week has seen supporters backing a recall for the London-born defender who has made 37 appearances for the Town first team.

The player himself though is keen that his future is sorted out soon, but doesn't think he has shown enough at Vicarage Road as yet: "I don't feel I've done enough at Watford so far to earn a contract, but time is running out.

"I think they're pleased with me, but it's a similar situation to Wimbledon where they haven't got the finances. I don't want to get my hopes up because I did that at Wimbledon and then fell flat on my face.

"My career's going round in circles and the next two weeks will decide where my future lies, but I'm too good a player to be in the reserves at Ipswich."

Earlier in the season Brown spent a loan spell at Wimbledon. That move looked set to become permanent, but the Dons were unable to afford the 24-year-old.
