The ninth issue of Turnstile Blues is out ahead of this Saturday’s home game against Huddersfield and contributor Gavin Barber tells us all about it.

The theme of the issue is fun and football: celebrating the genuinely fun bits of being a football supporter, and also reflecting on how football can become all too serious. As ever, Turnstile Blues is published as a celebration of all that's good about being a Town supporter.

Articles in the new issue include some thoughts on whether we really want to get promoted, or whether the Premier League be a bit joyless.

There's a first-hand account of why German supporters seem to be enjoying themselves all the time, and a piece on football chants by Andrew Lawn who has recently published a book on the subject.

On an ITFC theme, TB notes that the club are now charging kids £200 to be a mascot, and ask what the club will start charging for next?

In recognition of this season's loan signings, the fanzine looks back on loanees from the past (including Gerry Creaney and Adam Proudlock: readers of a sensitive disposition are duly warned), and look in detail at the loan system.

There's also some fascinating and in-depth reminiscences from someone who was good enough to play football at professional level but chose to give it up because he wasn't enjoying it. How much fun is it to play football at the top level?
