Town Could Receive Compensation for Fraser Injury
Sunday, 18th Oct 2015 17:13

Town managing director Ian Milne says the Blues are checking out whether they are due compensation after winger Ryan Fraser suffered a medial knee ligament injury while training with the Scotland U21 squad during the international break.

“We are looking at it. If it was England we’d get compensation,” Milne told BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch.

“[Club secretary] Sally Webb is checking with the Scottish FA to find out what the situation is. He’s out for two months but hopefully it won’t be more than two months.”

Newcastle will reportedly receive a multi-million-pound compensation settlement via FIFA's Club Protection Programme due to keeper Tim Krul suffering a long-term knee injury while away with the senior Dutch national squad.

Fraser, 21, who is on a season-long loan from AFC Bournemouth, has made an impressive start to his spell with the Blues, scoring four goals in eight starts and three sub appearances.

The Aberdonian was named the Football League's Young Player of the Month for August when he was also amongst the nominees for the Championship Player of the Month gong.

It's not that hard to grasp is it?
We may not have spent millions on players, but we are spending millions on what will prove to be very decent wages for the likes of Murphy, McG, Berra etc.

We keep saying about the money has been invested in new players wages etc, well what about those who came off the wage bill last year surely that must have reduced the overall wage bill prior to the new faces coming in, meaning the new figure isn't last years figures plus all the new players. Yes the wage bill will have risen but by millions?????

But what do I know?

to all the down votes, we have the 4th highest profit in transfer fees (sold and brought) in the division in the last 10 years, with the vast majority generated in the last 4 years. Has majority of the 18 odd million really gone into wages? Hmmm http://www.transferleague.co.uk/championship-teams-2004-to-date/transfer-league-

Phil, looking back at that first comment, came across as more annoyed than i should of...just seems like so much penny pinching at ITFC, with as little investment as possible in the hope of miraculous one off 90 million pay off. To the doubters, yes i am a proper supporter and always offer balanced views on here.

We need to win the next 2 away games. Bring back some cheer to this club. If we are back in the top 6 things will look a lot brighter. Every story is creating doom and gloom now.

Personally, I think MM leaving the club is not an option. Like it or not, we have players in place who can play MM's style of play (Hoofball). Another manager could prove detrimental as our players would take significant time to readjust to new tactics.

I am sure the club have reinvested what they can. At the end of the day, we are deeply in debt.

If this was Murphy last season would you feel differently? If I lent a staff member to another company and he couldn't do his job when he returned I'd want compensation too.

So, as well as knowing about football management there are so called fans here that now know about the finances of he game. Of course the club should enquirer about compensation- it is their duty to do so.

Am I missing something when reading negative comments on here about the club only money grabbing?! He's not our player: No, but I suspect we pay a hefty part/ all of his wages to which, through no fault of our own, we cant utilise for 2+ months at a big on field loss to us in who knows what way. Might mean us missing out on the playoffs/ promotion/ goals/ wins etc if we'd had him back fully fit. Besides, will Bournemouth be knocking on OUR door for a fee because he is their owned player but was injured on our watch? Surely any way we can cash in on something we are entitled to that isnt our fault but we lose out on, that means we have more to spend on the club/ players and (hopefully) less the fans have to pay, you'd have to be an idiot NOT to enquire about?
I'm sure you'd feel the same if it was your money / loss on the table, right?

......... our Club needs to turn itself around - for people capable of seeing, and understanding, the full picture ALL the necessary vibes are evident to see why we have been in the Championship for so, so, long - look like staying there - and are currently treading water - at best.

Doesn't take much to see it.
