Chambo: Best Feeling in the World Monday, 28th Dec 2015 06:00 Luke Chambers says your team grabbing a last-gasp winner is the best feeling in the world, let alone scoring that goal yourself as the Blues skipper did on Boxing Day to complete’s Town comeback as they beat QPR 2-1 at Portman Road. The 30-year-old headed home Freddie Sears’s cross from the left two minutes into injury time, Jonathan Douglas having equalised in the 77th minute after Junior Hoilett had put the visitors ahead just before half-time. “It’s the best feeling in the world, not just when you personally do it, but when your team scores the winner in the last minute of a game,” Chambers said. “The smallest player on the pitch has got across me and won the header so I have to hold my hands up for that. Thankfully I have come through for the team and scored the winner.” ![]() “I said to the boys before the day and again in the huddle before the game it was time we won at home again,” he added. “Our record on the whole over 18 months at home has been fantastic so we were delighted to win at home again. ![]() Saturday’s victory saw Town stay sixth and move a point behind Burnley - who the Blues face at Turf Moor next Saturday - with Sheffield Wednesday another point back in seventh. “All we can is keep pace with the top teams,” the Town captain added. “We have fought hard to get into the top six, we had defeats against Derby and Middlesbrough, who I regard as among the best two in the division. “ ![]() Chambers thought wingers Ryan Fraser and Tommy Oar both made an impact when coming off the bench against QPR and that increasingly there is competition for places as the Blues enter the second half of the season. “To be able to bring players like Ryan and Tommy Oar off the bench was amazing,” he said. “Luke Varney is back, we have Luke Hyam fit again and there is still David McGoldrick to come, so our squad is looking strong. “It gives the gaffer a headache in terms of who to pick but at least he knows he can bring players in that are of the same level as those dropping out.” ![]()
