![]() Wednesday, 20th Mar 2002 19:41 As TWTD revealed last month Town are updating the not univerally popular terrace anthem Singing the Blues. The club have released a new nine minute long version which they have put on their website to test the water. Originally the club planned to use a version of the song involving the drum stylings of the Suffolk School of Samba, but this idea was shelved, an insider telling us: "Singing the Blues is fairly incompatible with samba." The new version eschews the majority of the previous version's lyrics, in favour of concentrating on the main chorus. This, however, has been one of the main bones of contention amongst supporters. Most are keener on the terrace version which involves citing occasions when Norwich lose as when one would most like to be singing the blues as opposed to when 'others' are defeated, as in the official version.
