No Deals Expected on Final Emergency Loan Deadline Day
Thursday, 24th Mar 2016 10:32

Football League clubs have until 5pm today to sign players on an emergency loan basis but Town are not expected to add to their squad.

The Blues have brought in Ben Pringle on loan from Fulham - whose spell has been extended into a third month - and Liam Feeney from Bolton since the January transfer window closed.

Manager Mick McCarthy has said he’s keen to get some of his younger players out on loan so it is possible that there could be an exit, although nothing is currently understood to be on the cards.

From next season FIFA have forced the Football League to scrap the emergency loan system, which has allowed clubs to sign players on short-term loans of up to 93 days outside transfer windows, as it “affects the sporting integrity of the competitions”, much to Town manager Mick McCarthy’s frustration.

The Football League brought in the emergency loan system following the introduction of transfer windows in 2002/03.

Emergency loans are a lazy-man's way out (short of signing goalkeepers due to injuries)

Why do the hard work and promote from within when you can get someone on the fringes of lesser clubs.

No surprise. I'd have still liked to see an attack minded goal scoring central midfielder and cover at the back. But, MM and ME seem very reluctant to do deals. Let's just hope there are no further injuries,

Think this was no surprise. If Mick thinks all areas all full backed up with good players, he is crazy. Where is this attacking midfielder who can thread the eye of a needle?

Ugh!

Don't think it's a case of MM reluctant to do deals; what club is going to release a decent goalscoring attack minded midfield player on an emergency loan at this stage of the season in the first place ?

Reckon we need a couple of cart horse defensive midfielders, Two very poor full backs, and a pair of non goal scoring forwards. Oh wait that's our team. And we can't get better than we've got. Cheers Mick !!!

Not surprising. Do we need anyone else? It would be stupid to pay more for someone to sit on the bench. With Didzy back and Feeney and Pringle we should start getting a few goals. (That is as long as Mick accepts the wrong players started against Rotherham!).

If we get injuries, there are plenty of youngsters in the academy waiting for a chance.

If McCarthy stopped playing his favourites regardless of form, and put in players like Foley, might see some better performances as don't think we need any more players, not forgetting Feeney.

He has the players but his boring defensive hoof type football doesn't allow them to get in the team unless the undroppables ie Chambers Skuse Knudsen Berra or Smith is injured.

Look what happened when another, Gerken couldn't play, allowing Bart a chance has had mom nearly every game since.

This dinosaur with his boring unattractive style has had just as detrimental affect on this once great club as his predecessors I feel.

Am writing to the club on an unrelated matter, and will take the opportunity to raise this, which no doubt will fall on deaf ears;but the more people who express their concerns might make Evans realise that all is not well;but I doubt it.
Will be interested to see how many renew their season tickets;as many say they are not,but in the end some will relent;so we shall see.

Who are all these great players that are available for us to sign?

Fed with the IDIOTS posting throw away comments on here showing they know nothing about football. Amazing you are not all top managers. But I am guessing your all good at FIFA 16 or Football manager on your PCs

We have what we have and will do the best we can until ME puts his hand into his pocket for permanent signings.

Just read about the untimely death of Johann Cruff. One of his quotes was "Quality without results is pointless. Results without quality is boring". I have no doubt our esteemed manager would agree with the first sentence but would totally disagree with the second. However not getting results without quality is not just boring it is totally inexcusable. So unlikely to be any more loan signings. No point really as there is no more room for them on the bench.

peteswindon - as Eric Morecombe famously said about playing the piano ' all the right notes - just in the wrong order' MM has the players that can make a difference and actually go out and try win a game - but he leaves em out
That is what makes it even worst
We do not need any additional players - just pick the right ones
I hate FIFA and Football manager and run a youth football team
It is about playing football matches you need to win with the right players in the right formation - NOT play matches with main objective of 'not losing' maybe taking a game to a team may work - MM ?

........ don't get too disappointed people - mid table will be achieved - and that's the limit of the Owner and Manager's expectation.

Spin will indicate otherwise, for obvious reasons right now - but the above is the aim, and probably always will be. McCarthy is capable of achieving this, and Portman Road will have the normal people who either don't know entertainment from boredom OR prepared to accept all things Evans and McCarthy forever and a day.

The Club'e debt to Evans .... !!! increases, and as such his stranglehold on the Club.

Not a sobering thought - for those who can see through it ......... !!!

We're not going to get relegated and we have good players. Mick, theres nothing to lose. Take some rudkd. Play some football. Make us laugh. Make us cry. Make us weep. Entertain us. You'll find we forgive everything except mindless aching boredom!!!
