Malarczyk and Yorwerth Available, Hyam Accepts New Deal, Robinson to Stay Friday, 29th Apr 2016 14:21 Town boss Mick McCarthy has revealed that centre-halves Josh Yorwerth and Piotr Malarczyk have been made available for transfer, while midfielder Luke Hyam has accepted a new contract and young central defender Joe Robinson will also be kept on. “Josh Yorwerth and Peter Malarczyk they’ll be available to other clubs, they won’t be staying,” McCarthy confirmed. Twenty-four-year-old Pole Malarczyk, who was signed from Korona Kielce last summer on a two-year deal with an option for a further season, is currently on loan at Southend having made three cup starts and three Championship sub appearances for the Blues. “He’s not as good as what we’ve got, simple as that,” McCarthy said regarding Malarczyk, who seems likely to return to Poland. Yorwerth also signed a two-year deal with an option for a further season last summer, having joined after leaving Cardiff City following a trial at the tail end of 2014/15. The Wales U21s international has spent most of this season on loan with League Two Crawley Town. “Josh Yorwerth’s done OK at Crawley, where the manager’s just left, of course,” McCarthy said. “I spoke to Josh the other day. I’ve already spoken to Peter, I told him before he went off to Southend. And Josh, I spoke to him on Tuesday this week and said that he would be available.” He says young central defender Joe Robinson, 19, who has recently been on loan at Woking will be kept on for next season. “Robbo’s a bit behind those but he’ll be staying, he’ll be the captain of the U21s team,” the Town boss confirmed. “He’s a great example, he’s one of the youngest in his year and I’ll be brutally honest, six months ago I’d be thinking I probably wouldn’t have kept him. “But he made such a rapid improvement and he’s such a great kid and such a great character and an example to others, I think based on that he’s worth that chance. “He’s a young one in his year and as we all know young scholars, young academics, young professional footballers, if they’re almost 10 or 11 months behind some of the others, their peers, they do take a bit of catching up. “He’s worth it on that basis and he’ll in the U21s, if not we’ll loan him out somewhere because he did well at Woking. That’s his future at the club and hopefully he improves enough to get in the team.” Meanwhile McCarthy says Luke Hyam has accepted the offer of new terms, understood to be a new two-year contract, the Blues having already confirmed that they are taking an option for next season included in the midfielder's existing contract. “I had a message from his agent telling me he’s going to accept the offer, and I hope that’s the case,” the Town boss added.
