Town Ball 20 in Tonight's FA Cup Draw
Monday, 5th Dec 2016 09:58

Town will be ball number 20 in the draw for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup, which takes place this evening at 7.10pm live on BBC2 and BT Sport.

Steven Gerrard and Ian Wright will be the men charged with picking out the ties at the BT Tower during BT Sport’s coverage of the Oldham Athletic-Lincoln City second round tie. Third round matches will be played between January 6th and 9th.

Last season the Blues were beaten at the third round stage by League Two Portsmouth - featuring Adam Webster - after a replay.

Boss Mick McCarthy is yet to win an FA Cup tie as Blues manager. Town's last FA Cup win was the 2-1 victory at Blackpool at the third round stage in January 2010 under Roy Keane’s management.

Would need to be at home to barrow or Sutton to even stand a chance of going through with McCarthy in charge

Macclesfield away. As my second team at least I'd be happy either way, and they played well Friday, some entertainment from one side at least. Given up on expecting that from McCarthy

DINO OUT!!

I would be interested if we had a manager who was, but sadly we have a tw@t in charge of our club who shows nothing but disrespect for the competition & to the great history our club has in it!!!!

McCarthy Out!!!!!

Before RK and MM I used to love the FA Cup 3rd Round. It falls very close to my birthday so has been a bit of a tradition for me for years. This tradition will come to an end this year. I will not be going. This decision was made 70 mins into last years shocker at PR as I was walking out. Mick as made is perfectly clear that he wants the team to lose to concentrate on a mid table league finish. Waste of time, waste of money. MM out #1978.

I've no interest. Last season was the first season since 1983 that I hadn't attended a game all season. Previously I had attended st the very bare minimum 10 games at home plus away games on top. This now looks like the second season. Bad bad bad. The only way is for nobody to attend the games whatsoever. Hit attendances below 10000and hope the senior people take notice.

He will as usual rest his favourites keeping them fresh or our promotion charge(sorry relegation battle which they haven't got the guts for either!!!!) it will make a change to see people on the park who want to wear the shirt and would put a shift in, but whatever they do we all(us who know nothing) know what happens when the next team sheet goes up!!!! the way this man treats our club and supporters is a complete disgrace as are his over paid go through the motions favourites on the park!! we deserve better and before long I can see the atmosphere at Portman Road turning very hostile towards him enough is enough this conceited arrogant man has to go before the damage he I doing is beyond repair!!!!!

This used to be one of the things I looked forward to every season. 'The Magic Of The Cup'.

Think those days are gone now.

Wow. The level of dissatisfaction and anger against McCarthy and the board continues. Every article either post match interviews, results, AGMs, FA cup draws etc all draw out such hatred of McCarthy and Evans
Evans I am unsure on as he bought the club, sacked magilton on the edge of the play offs and employs Keane. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was incredibly impressed by this level of 'pushing the club into the premier league' He backed Keane financially but the faith in him was well miss guided to put it nicely. He then employs Jewell out of the football graveyard 'on recommendations of Harry redknapp' if it's to be believe and backs him a little less. I was less impressed. He employed Clegg who broke this club in my opinion.
McCarthy at the time seemed a return to the return to promise. A manager who had won promotion to the premier league, managed in the international arena and more importantly stuck it to Keane!!!!
His football is rubbish, his loyalty to his 'favourites' gripes people, his attitude is stubborn. But isn't he in all honesty doing the best with what he's got?? I'm sure he didn't want to sell mings for example or cresswell probably even Murphy even though for the club , Murphy especially looked a good deal. We have been promised money is being re invested but I think the real hope is we have a batch of young players materialise at some point like Wright,Dyer,Scowcroft,Bramble etc and we are playing a waiting game until this happens to bustler with a few signings.
Any chance of us getting promoted before would mean AT THE VERY LEAST two or three 20 + a season goal scorers at this level = £10,000,000 a new midfield plus alternatives £15,000,000 PLUS signing on fees, agents fees and wages!!!!! Not to mention a right back or 2!! ARE WE HAVING A LAUGH
Please people be angry for the club we love but stop and really think who we are angry with. He may not be your cup of tea and anger you with his ways and stubbornness and in many ways you are right but, with the except of quite a few poor signings, isn't he doing the best with what he's got!
