Bru Skippers as 10-Man Mauritius Lose Friday, 24th Mar 2017 14:23 Blues midfielder Kevin Bru skippered Mauritius for the first time but his side were reduced to 10 men early on and fell to a 2-0 defeat away against Comoros in the first leg of their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Mitsamiouli this afternoon. Having had defender Emmanuel Vincent dismissed after only 12 minutes for an elbow, Les Dodos hung on until the 69th minute when Youssouf Ben Djaloud put the Comorians ahead, then Alhadhur Chaker added to their lead five minutes later. Bru, whose elder brother Jonathan is the regular captain but missed today’s match, has now won eight caps for the nation he qualifies for via his parents having previously represented France at U19 level. The teams meet in the tie's second leg at Belle Vue in Mauritius on Tuesday.
