Town Reward Early Bird Season Ticket Holders
Friday, 23rd Jun 2017 14:11

Town are to reward season ticket holders who renewed their seats before the initial April 17th early bird deadline with £10 which can be spent on tickets or other goods from Planet Blue or ITFC Direct.

As previously reported, season tickets can still be purchased at the pre-deadline prices which the club has confirmed will remain the case until midnight on August 4th, the day before the 2017/18 season kicks off.

As a result, Town have made the decision to reward those who renewed prior to the deadline with the £10 added to their season ticket cards.

“I want to thank all the supporters who have committed - and will commit - to a season ticket for next season, but having extended the early bird prices, we feel it is right to reward those fans who purchased a season ticket before the deadline,” MD Ian Milne told the club site.

Town say there is no minimum spend, if £5 is paid out in one transaction, the remaining £5 will remain on the card for a future purchase.

In March, fans reacted angrily to the announcement of an increase of 1.5 per cent on the adult season ticket price as well as other unpopular moves and numbers dropped more than 2,000 to below 10,000 for the first time since the late 1990s, a reduction in income of around £1 million.

Earlier this month, the Blues announced a reduction in matchday ticket prices ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Rotherham striker Danny Ward's long-expected £1.6 million move to Cardiff City has been confirmed.

The Blues made a bid for the 26-year-old in January and according to the Sheffield Star made a "substantial offer" during this window, however, even if that was the case it's unlikely Town continued to pursue their interest once Joe Garner's signing from Rangers, which was confirmed a week ago, had been lined up.

As someone who renewed I welcome it. Obviously designed to redress the balance after dropping match day prices after the early bird deadline that meant that for some who renewed a season ticket purchase would prove more expensive as most budget for missing a game or two. Ten pounds equates to the difference between the old and new match day price x four. The Club are being fair. Generally still too expensive but a move in the right direction so why all the negative comment ?

It seems to me that the Stubborn Dino is holding back the season ticket holders from renewing this season, because reading on here, if he did go there would be a big surge of ticket sales ?????

BUT as we all know Dino will not resign and Evans will not sack him !!!!! so unfortunately we are stuck with him, Goodness me he must be a good Talker for Evans not to see through him with all his insults to the fans (customers) of this once great club !!! not so many now.

....... another example of how unprofessional the Club has become - out of touch, as has continuously been evident. The running and direction (if it has one) of this once great Club, has progressively become shambolic and will continue in the same vain under the current regime.

How any 'true blue' - and I mean 'true blue' - can be in any way happy with the current set up is beyond me.

Sad thing is, some think they are 'true blues' because they will, and constantly do, accept anything the Club presents to them. Deluded - or what ?

Stella post blueboy, like you I cannot see where these deluded positive 'true supporters' (lol) are coming from. McCarthy and ITFC are not a good 'fit', they don't work anymore, anyone with half of brain should have worked that one out by now. The football is dire beyond believe and next season will consist of the same old, same old - 'The McCarthy Way' as there is no other way with him. There will be the odd good game, the law of averages suggests that, but we need to stay strong here, stick with our believes and not bury our "heads in the sand" like these so called 'super fans'.

We moan because we care, END OF!!

Dino out along with Chambo and Skuse

As someone who hasn't renewed this season for the first time, It's taken me a while to consider my response to this. I'm really glad that the loyalty of those folk who have renewed has at least been acknowledged. I hope that it's the first step in a positive direction.
What I will say is that the nature of this 'voucher to spend at the company store' offer is symptomatic of the drift of the club away from the community. You can only redeem this £10.00 at PR, so it's straight back into the ME empire, not currency you can spend anywhere.
I wonder on match days this year how many small businesses around Ipswich will suffer from the ticket price hike and the loss of gate at PR. Even in my own small case there will be beers at the Cricketers, fryups at Jacey's, pizzas at Lloyds Ave on a Tuesday.
