U18s at Bolton
Friday, 25th Aug 2017 11:53

Town’s U18s are in action against Bolton Wanderers at their Eddie Davies Football Academy on Saturday morning (KO 11am).

The young Blues will be looking for their first points of the season after an understrength side was 6-1 hammered by Nottingham Forest in last week’s opening game at Playford Road, Jack Lankester (pictured) scoring the Town goal.

Midfielder Ellis Murrell will be making his return to match action after five months out with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, the Suffolk Premier Cup first round tie away against Long Melford will take place on Wednesday 11th October, kick-off 7.45pm. The winners will face Hadleigh United away in the second round.

The U18s will again be the Blues’ representatives in the competition, playing all their ties away from home.

I'm pleased that Town are in the Suffolk Premier Cup again. They should be in it every season to help support county football. I must say though that if Town got through to the later stages it would be nice for the other teams to have the prospect of playing at Portman Road, fixtures permitting.
