U18s Win at Colchester Friday, 17th Nov 2017 21:05 by James Ager Town's U18s beat Colchester United 3-1 at Maldon & Tiptree's Wallace Binder ground in a Professional Development League Two South fixture on Friday evening. The Essex side took a 13th minute lead when Noah Chilvers reacted first following a good save from Mitchell Ware to tuck the ball into the far corner of the net. Town levelled the scores five minutes later via an own goal - George Keys inadvertently diverted a low left-sided cross from Bailey Clements past his own keeper. Steven Cahill twice tested U's stopper George Phillips and Zak Brown should have hit the target from close range following good work from Armando Dobra but the sides went in level at the break. Ware produced a fine save to tip a Keys header over his bar 10 minutes after the restart, shortly before Phillips did likewise following Jack Lankester's long range effort. Alan Lee's side took a deserved lead on 79, mainly thanks to Dobra's persistence on the byline. He won the ball from a U's defender and teed up sub Lounes Foudil (pictured), who rolled the ball into the net from inside the six-yard box. Dobra was again instrumental in Town's third goal four minutes later when he got the ball to Lankester in the box, and the free-scoring striker turned and hit a shot into the top corner to seal all three points. On Saturday morning, the U16s drew 0-0 away against the same opposition. U18s: Ware, El Mizouni, Clements, Cahill, Marshall, Ndaba, D Crowe, McGavin, Brown (Foudil 67), Dobra, Lankester. Unused: Egan, Murrell, Ronan, Vega.
