Sivell on Life's a Pitch
Sivell on Life's a Pitch
Saturday, 5th May 2018 10:03

Newly-inducted Hall of Fame member Laurie Sivell will be the guest of honour on Life’s a Pitch on BBC Radio Suffolk at lunchtime (12-2pm). Host Mark Murphy will also be joined by legend-in-residence Kevin Beattie, New Tractorboy and TWTD's Phil Ham, while there will be a three-hour special Bobby Robson's Blue and White Army live from Portman Road on Sunday (9am-12pm).

Goalkeeper Sivell was inducted into the Hall of Fame at last night’s 39th Ex-Players’ Hall of Fame Reunion Dinner at Portman Road.

Sunday’s show will see the regulars joined by members of the FA Cup final-winning side at Portman Road to celebrate 78 Day - the 40th anniversary of the FA Cup win - with plenty more from 1978 throughout.

What are your memories of the 1978 FA Cup run, final and celebrations? What do you remember about Laurie Sivell’s career? Give us your thoughts on those questions or anything else via email, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 01473 212121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.
The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM, and also now on DAB, or online via a widget on this page by clicking here.

Very well deserved. An excellent and underrated keeper who served us extremely well.
Very brave and also a very good cricketer for Lowestoft Town.

Great Keeper, very brave and had he been taller would have been even better! Laurie was my first favourite player, had the privilege of meeting him outside Trevor Whymark's Wedding when i was very young. Well deserved!
