Butcher, Deller and Fans Pay Tribute to Beattie on Life's a Pitch Friday, 21st Sep 2018 17:06 Blues legend Terry Butcher and former darts world champion Keith Deller will be joining host Mark Murphy, New Tractorboy and TWTD's Phil Ham on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Life’s a Pitch on Saturday from the FanZone, where there will be a book of condolence for the show’s legend in residence Kevin Beattie, who died last Sunday, aged 64 (12-2pm). Beattie had been a member of the regular team on the show since it started seven years ago.
Butcher has said Beattie was his hero when he was growing up and went on to play alongside him for Town, while Deller was a ballboy at Portman Road and used to travel to games with the player many believe is the greatest in the club’s history. In addition to Butcher and Deller, the show will talk to supporters in the FanZone about their memories of Beattie, where they will also be able to sign the book of condolence.
Send the your thoughts and memories via email, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 0800 141 2121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.
