Friday, 2nd Nov 2018 15:43

Former Town central defender Tommy Smith will be the star guest on BBC Radio Suffolk's Life’s a Pitch, which is live from the FanZone between midday and 2pm on Saturday with host Mark Murphy joined by Blues legend Terry Butcher, Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham.

Smith, 28, joined the Colorado Rapids in January and has just completed his first season in the MLS.

Will the Paul Lambert era get under way with a home win? Can the new boss steer the Blues to safety? Send the your thoughts on that question or anything else via email, Mark’s Twitter or during the show by phone on 0800 141 2121 or text to 81333 starting your message with SFK.

The show can be heard on 95.5FM, 95.9FM, 103.9FM and 104.6FM, and also now on DAB, or online via a widget on this page by clicking here.

But is he coming back on Loan though! Just what our defense needs!

Was about to start a thread about him earlier today, if people would want him back. I would, in a heartbeat! He was a great leader together with Chambers.

Unfortunately he wasn't the same player after his back op but still better than what we have got now. Love to see him back on a blue shirt but his not a free agent

I liked Smith too...got a back injury and was more or less discarded by McCarthy, his last full season here he was debatably our best defensive player...

Yes, with where we are at present Tommy would be very useful. Great pity he was discarded ....

Biggest mistake of modern era was not selling Rhodes but not making Tommy captain instead of chambers. Our best, most reliable, most committed player who loves the club. Always underestimated. Only truly appreciated in his absence.

Come back Tommy any time in any capacity. One of our own.

Agree with all the previous comments. He was our best defender for a long time, committed to the club but obviously not liked by MM. He also weighed in with a fair number of goals. I thought MM treated him appallingly, maybe Tommy had to much toi say about hoofball. He would be a huge asset right now & I doubt we'd have conceded some of the silly goals we have.
