Chambers: Positive Results Will Come
Sunday, 30th Dec 2018 15:57

Skipper Luke Chambers insists that positive results will come if the Blues continue playing as they are at present. He says the squad still believe they can beat the drop.

“The belief is still there that we can get out of it,” Chambers told iFollow Ipswich following the 2-0 defeat at Middlesbrough yesterday.

“We know if we can carry the plan through that the manager has brought in, the results will come. They have to.

“It’s enjoyable to play in but the results are not enjoyable, but I’m convinced that will change.

“No one would have expected us to get anything [on Saturday] against a squad that has cost millions but we dominated the game for periods.”

Chambers felt the key moment at the Riverside was referee Jeremy Simpson’s decision to award a harsh penalty when Jordan Spence was adjudged to have hauled over Jordan Hugill as they challenged for an aerial ball.

“The referee’s decision for the penalty changed the game,” he added. “That was frustrating and some of the decisions that have gone against us lately have been baffling.

“Every tiny mistake seems to be punished at the moment but that’s what happens when you are where we are in the table.

"The way we're playing is still encouraging, though, and it's enjoyable to be a part of.

"Yes it's a results business but we can't continue playing the way we are and not pick up good results.

"We need to be more ruthless when we are on top in games and have more belief in attacking areas."

Made things worse – count the points mate ! Simple .

I'll support the team for ever more and feel desperately sorry for Lambert who was given the hospital pass of the century when he inherited this squad. But let's be clear the results haven't improved and won't ...

Lambert made things worse? .... look at the points mate! More goals conceded and less goals scored how does that make things better ?

I'm a loyal blue and feel desperately sorry for Lambert. I hope he gets the backing to being in reinforcements but let's be honest who's going to come ? So I'll continue to hope but facts don't lie and the club is being run by someone who doesn't invest and won't when we need it most.

Sorry guys my opinion is it's worse and will continue
