![]() Wednesday, 3rd May 2000 14:17 Marcus Stewart and Mark Venus are Town's main worries ahead of Sunday's crucial game with Walsall. The Town record signing is still feeling the dead-leg he received on Saturday and is still not training, but he is expected to be fit for Sunday. Venus is still having trouble with his right ankle, an injury which has affected him ever since pre-season and he will have an operation on it in the summer. Manu Thetis is also still concerned about his back injury sustained in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace. He is likely to take a place on the subs' bench unless Venus misses out. His situation should become clearer as the week progresses. Town's U17 Academy team have returned from their jaunt to Italy where they enjoyed some impressive results. In their first game in Modena they beat Visport 12-0 with a hat-trick from both Robert Dickinson and Matthew Richards. They drew 1-1 with Fuenzola, Town's scorer was Darren Ambrose. The next match against Bari was another draw, 3-3, Town's goals from Stewart Logan, Richards and Matthew Robinson. The resulting semi-final saw Town go out to old Anglo-Italian Cup foes Salernitana. Town took the lead through Logan, but were 2-1 down at half-time before a disastrous second half. Both Robert Dickinson and Ian Westlake were shown red cards before the Italians added a third goal.
