Town Confirm School of the Day to Continue
Tuesday, 16th Jul 2019 13:07
Town have confirmed they are continuing the School of the Day initiative which was instigated last season.
The scheme will again see free tickets - 100 adult and junior seats - given away to different primary schools for each home league match.
Invites are already going out with this season's first School of the Day game the visit of Doncaster Rovers on Saturday 14th September once the school holidays have ended. The club directly contacts schools and it is at their discretion which are selected.
Dan Palfrey, Town's PR manager, stressed the initiative’s importance: “The scheme proved extremely popular last season. It was a no-brainer to continue it going forward this season.
“There is a good chance that it could be a child's first time at Portman Road, so we hope that they enjoy and embrace their visit.
“It’s not just about the 90 minutes, we hope they take in our FanZone activities pre-match and want to return.”

Politics and Ipswich Town by ElephantintheRoom
You might just have noticed that the TWTD Forum is awash with political comment. Annoying for some perhaps, who only want to discuss Norwood’s fitness – but surely no bad thing, given the stark choices facing us at a critical time in the country’s history?
The Story Behind the Billy Kee Banner by ThatMuhrenCross
Sunday's defeat to Accrington Stanley was the first real low point of what has been a fantastic season following Ipswich Town. The performance on the field was nowhere near the standards we'd expect of a team that was flying high at the top of the table.
History Boys and Renaissance Men by Stowmarket
How many of us who were fortunate enough to have followed ITFC back in 1980 realised at the time that we were indeed blessed to be around to witness the greatest ever Ipswich Town side?
Round Three: Eagle by Kropotkin123
Par was set at five points from one win and two draws. We managed to get a haul of seven points, which means we were two under par. Google promises me that this is an eagle.
