Nydam Facing Six Months Out
Wednesday, 24th Jul 2019 14:22

Midfielder or full-back Tristan Nydam is expected to be out for six months having broken his right ankle and suffered ligament damage at Notts County last night.

The 19-year-old was stretchered off in the second half following a challenge with County’s Dion Kelly-Evans with the Blues having no complaint about the tackle.

“Tristan has broken his right ankle and there is ligament damage as well,” Town physio Matt Byard told the club site.

“He is now back in Ipswich after being taken to hospital to be assessed and is in a cast. He will have a MRI scan to look at the extent of the ligament damage and will need surgery when the swelling settles down.

“We will know more next week but with this type of injury, you are looking at a six-month timeframe.”

Nydam joins an already lengthy injury list with Teddy Bishop (knee), Jon Nolan (calf), Toto Nsiala (hamstring), Jack Lankester (back), Gwion Edwards (groin), Alan Judge (wrist), Freddie Sears, Ben Morris (both ACL) and Ben Folami (achilles) all currently sidelined.

Exceptional bad luck. He had been having a good pre-season and must have been pushing for a league start.
Hope the recovery goes well.

Adeyemi, Huws, Dozzell, Bishop, Ward, Walters, Sears, Folami, Morris, Nydam. All have suffered serious long term injuries in the last 2 years. I can't believe any of the other 91 league clubs have suffered such wretched luck. Best wishes to all those who are still on the long road to recovery. Keep the faith folks - our luck must change soon.

Save our club, fight for our survival! IMO if you make down and do nothing to support this fight, and idly watch us disintegrate even further, whilst hiding behind a keyboard, then sorry but you may as well be a Norwich supporter.

and do what exactly E17, ? What are you rattling the keys about ? Most already know what is needed, a new owner, but as has been said many times before, to sell you need a buyer [ not rocket science] and to date nobody is interested. If Evans can sell ,he wont STAY ANOTHER DAY, , so IF YOU EVER feel like buying put your money where your mouth is or you may as well a Orient supporter.
