Your Ipswich Town v Rotherham United Match Reports

That was a dreadful performance and hard to find a man of the match. Rotherham tactically out thought us tonight by playing a high line and restricting service to our hopeless forwards. Jackson has pace but little else and Keane was so poor tonight. Very down tonight and worry about Saturday now. Went to Accrington Sunday and silly me booked hotel and tickets for Rochdale. I must be mad. A must win game on Saturday otherwise the alarm bells will be ringing.

Very poor. The two centre halves were unbelievably bad, both individually and as a pair.
System didn't work either.
Need to get the best eleven in the best formation and play them every week unless they get injured.

In a week in which it was disclosed that heading a ball can give a player Dementia. Will Keane will have no worries, he constantly fails to win the ball. Just watch him.

Looks like our season is gong to depend on whether Flynn Downes stays fit. Two game without him and two games with a powder puff midfield. A very physical Rotherham outran us and out-muscled us and could easily have won by a lot more than two goals. They were first to every loose ball - their goals coming after they pressured us into mistakes. Without Downes you would have hoped that Skuse would control the defensive midfield, but I thought he had a particularly anonymous game. It is difficult for defenders when there is no midfield protection, and no one in midfield coming to take the ball from them when they are in possession. Huws was just about the pick of a poor midfield until he was taken off.
How come Georgiou never starts as he was by far the pick of the Town players, at least looking like he could make something happen? Jackson at least ran hard, although to little effect. Keane finding it difficult to get into the game, but he got almost no decent service. After the last two performances against physical sides, everyone is going to be trying to rough us up.

Very poor disjointed performance, only Georgiou gave us a glimmer of class. Constant team changes/formation changes is killing this team.
A well organised Rotherham could have beaten us by far more, while we could only give their keeper one shot to save during the entire game tonight.
Let's forget about cancelling games during the so called International breaks, as it is halting team progress, while making it a hardship for the fans. Only Downes (if required for International duty) would be a miss to the team, as he was tonight and on Sunday.
Paul Lambert, you have done a wonderful job in uniting the fanbase and love of the Club, but your constant chopping and changing of players and formation could be yours and our downfall, please prove me wrong.

I've calmed down now!

PL is getting it wrong. This is L1 where players are tall and aggressive. We've got too many that are short and weak. So what's the point in Holy launching his kicks straight at their defenders only to see the ball fly over our midfield and then return with interest back to our defence! Surely he can see that won't work.
Time to get back to 442 with the return of Wolfy (don't rate Wilson that much) and Downes to gve us more presence and better chance of getting control.
