Town skipper Matt Holland has commented on his reasons for turning down Graham Taylor's Aston Villa and Town's woeful display against Bradford City.

Holland wrote on his site regarding Villa: "The real reason why I decided not to leave is because I felt it was not the right move at the right time.

"Now, once the club accepted a bid for me I owed it to myself and my family to fully explore the move, and it was after final discussions with my wife, Paula, and my representatives that I decided that I would stay at Ipswich.

"There will undoubtedly be rumours about what influenced my decision but I will categorically state that it was the culmination of lots of little things that made up my mind."

Holland admits that Town were not good enough in a number of ways against Bradford but was again impressed with the two Darrens: "If we are to win promotion we have to win home games - it is that simple.

"Really we got what we deserved against Bradford because our shape and intensity were poor, particularly having gone a goal up.

"I know it is repetition but one of our youngsters scored again and was helped by the other one.

"Darren and Darren are proving excellent picks and are testament to their own hard work and that of the coaches in the Academy. But it was a bad result and frankly not good enough."
