Bennetts: An Exciting Step Friday, 2nd Oct 2020 18:16 New Blues loan signing Keanan Bennetts says joining Town for the 2020/21 season is an exciting step for him.
The 21-year-old sealed his move to Portman Road from parent club Borussia Mönchengladbach this afternoon.
"The only way this team should be looking is up and I want to be involved," the one-time Tottenham youngster told iFollow Ipswich.
"My journey has had its difficulties but also parts to be proud of, and this is another exciting step.
"I spoke to Paul via Zoom and we had a good chat. He wants me to express myself and show what I'm about. I'm looking forward to this chapter.
"I'd like to have played tomorrow but that can't happen so I'd like to be involved as soon as possible.
“The team are going really well so I will have to work hard but most importantly I want to do a job here that benefits the team and sees us collect as many points as possible.”
Bennetts has been handed the number 17 shirt for his spell with the Blues.

Welcome Keanan. Not since Ryan Fraser have we had an exciting winger who can take players on and put dangerous balls into the box. Just hope we will have someone in the box to convert them!

Is anybody else worried about our lack of an accomplished striker? I think quick wide men will help our style but surely we need a target man up font to provide a more direct option when teams flood the midfield against us, which they will definitely start doing. I guess difficult to sign any one any good on loan with limited resources and salary cap!

This could be a big step in having someone who can provide good quality crosses for Hawkins, so if both play I think its a very good move. If he is allowed to express himself like PL has said, then I am looking forward to some positive stuff from him. I hope we allow him to mess up at times, and he is given a decent run in the starting 11 and not 15/20 minutes here or there like Georgiou, who didn't even get to start a league game in a poor team. Good luck Keanan, looking forward to seeing you running at those defenders.
