| Forum Thread | How did Hirst look? at 17:24 12 Jan 2025
With all the talk about signing a striker in Jan, is a fit Hirst good enough if we don’t? |
| Forum Thread | In order to have any chance of staying up at 13:19 6 Jan 2025
We have to improve our points haul from the first half of the season by, I reckon, 10 points so where are those points coming from? These are my thoughts: +3 Everton +2 Southampton Leicester Brighton +1 Brentford Bournemouth Man City West Ham C Palace 0 (same result) Wolves Arsenal Man Utd Liverpool Newcastle N Forest Aston Villa -2 Chelsea Tottenham |
| Forum Thread | This Jan transfer window seems more important than ever before at 21:55 4 Jan 2025
Southampton aside, things are pretty tight near the bottom of the PL and it feels like it will be fine margins as to who stays up and who goes down. Everyone will be trying to improve their squads but we have a real chance of survival if we get the right players in in the Jan window and if we can do better business than the other teams around us. The good news is that McKenna knows what he needs and Ashton is a very shrewd businessman who can make it happen so we are very fortunate to have them. We also have continuity. Most of the teams around us have changed their manager recently so they won’t have had continuity of recruitment and that long-term vision of building a team from the ground up that McKenna has had. It will certainly be an interesting rest of the season. [Post edited 4 Jan 21:57]

I’m very surprised at how well Nuno is doing at Forest. I didn’t really rate him highly as a manager before now but what he’s done at Forest this season is quite remarkable. He always speaks well when I watch his interviews and he seems quite humble. He definitely deserves the MOTM award for Dec and if he can keep them in a top 6 spot come May, it will be a massive achievement. |

They are so bad they are looking like they will be dragged into the relegation fight. I can imagine Adebayo and Morris will be looking to leave in Jan. |
| Forum Thread | Does anyone else really dislike Wrexham? at 15:28 1 Jan 2025
Just hate all the hype surrounding them because of their Hollywood owners. Really hope they don’t get promotion again this year. Losing to Barnsley today - cmon Barnsley! |
| Forum Thread | A few (nice) selection dilemmas for McK at 12:38 31 Dec 2024
Will McKenna select the same starting XI for Fulham assuming that no-one picked up an injury last night or will he still rotate? When Muric recovers from his thigh injury, it will be difficult to bring him back if Walton continues to do well in goal in the meantime. When Tuanzebe is fit he will surely come straight back into the side. When fit again, Hirst will come back to the bench with AAH dropping out of the squad. How will the Jan signings be used - as starters or on the bench? |
| Forum Thread | Comments from the Chelsea fans forum at 10:14 31 Dec 2024
From the Chelsea fans forum ‘The most annoying thing about that game is that Ipswich did basically NOTHING as a team and won 2-0. Just Delap running around like a maniac by himself and bullying our CB’s single-handedly. They didn’t pass it around and press us like Fulham did, they didn’t smack in a hundred crosses and threaten from corners, they didn’t destroy us on the counter. They seriously just had 1 single striker running and hoping for a mistake from our defense and waiting to pounce. And we obliged.’ Priceless! They just can’t admit that on the night we were better than them. Another comment: ‘Feel aggrieved for our fans going all that way for sub par performances’ They should try travelling from Ipswich to Plymouth - that’s going a long way to support your team. |

Pen and a favourable VAR decision. Still a long way to go but could this be our night? Hope so |
| Forum Thread | Trying to think long-term and big picture at 09:43 28 Dec 2024
So we know that all three promoted teams got relegated from the PL last season and two of the three previously relegated teams went straight back up. Assuming the same happens this season and we go down with Soton and Leicester and Burnley and Sheff Utd go straight back up (with Leeds also going up), we are looking at one, possibly two seasons in the Championship before we get promoted again and have another crack at the PL. We are already one season ahead of schedule based on what I’m sure Ashton, McKenna and the owners planned and although they were hoping we could stay up once promoted, the players we bought over the summer suggest they were also contingency planning by building a very good Championship squad (minus Phillips, Cajuste and Delap who will go) Only two seasons ago, we were neck and neck with Plymouth and look where they are now - probably getting relegated to L1 again. Although we’d all love to stay up this season, if we don’t, we will come back stronger in one or two years time and in the meantime we get to play in the Championship which is, in my opinion, far better and more exciting than the PL. |
| Forum Thread | Not as bad as I thought at 22:10 27 Dec 2024
We defended really well with only one lapse but we couldn’t retain possession, we looked lightweight on the ball and we didn’t seem to want to cross or shoot. Delap, Sammie and Hutch were poor. |
