Club world cup

I was surprised to see that games are being shown on C5. Thought it would be on TNT or Prime which I don’t have.

Might watch the Chelsea game tomorrow just to see if Delap gets any minutes and if so, how well he plays.

Is anyone else going to watch any of the games or are you not that bothered?

After a successful loan season with the Chairboys, my question is - is Cam Humphreys good enough to become a regular Town starter next season, a regular sub or should he get loaned out again for 6 months or a year?

It would be nice to see more of our homegrown talent in the team rather than becoming an extended academy or development team for the likes of Citeh and Chelsea.

What I still don’t understand is …

Why did we get worse as the season progressed rather than better? Did opposition teams just work us out after the first few months? Were we too predictable? Was it injuries to key players? Did the players just stop trying so hard?

A draw against Leicester would almost guarantee us an 18th place finish and will beat Nodge’s 21/22 season points total. Obviously it would be nice to finish with three wins but I am realistic.

Championship promotion and relegation

So with Town in the Championship next season, who do we think (and want to) win the playoffs and join Cardiff and Muff in bring relegated to league one.

Personally I’d like to see someone other than Sheff Utd go up, maybe Bristol City although Sheff Utd will be strong next season and therefore stiff competition for Town.

I’d like to see Preston or Stoke go down.

Over the last two seasons Davis has arguably been one of our best players and some were talking about a big money move and even an England call up but this season he has had quite a lot of criticism particularly defensively and unfortunately has not made the step-up in quality required for the PL

Is the Championship his level after all or has he just had an off season do you think?
Would he have been any better playing for a Palace, West Ham or one of those sides in PL mid-table?

Overseas recruitment

In recent years we have bought mostly UK players but I wonder if we should try something different this summer and recruit more from overseas. Enciso and Sarmiento have both showed that the South American players provide a bit more flair and excitement so I’d like to see us bring in someone from that part of the world next season. Also Cajuste has been a good loan player but doubt he will stay next season so we should look to bring someone else in from Europe. And we could also look at an African player or two of the ilk of Bryan Mbeumo or Yoane Wissa.
